Shakespeare Under the Pines
A weekend of plays at The Arboretum at Flagstaff
To close out our 2017 season, the Flagstaff Shakespeare Festival is partnering with TheatriKids and The Arboretum at Flagstaff for a weekend of outdoor performances, September 23–24. We are also offering performances for schools/students Monday, September 25 (see the bottom of this page for details). These shows are suitable for ages 11 and up.
September 23 at 2pm, Flagstaff Shakespeare Festival presents “All’s Well That Ends Well” Note: This show is suitable for ages 11 and up.
Tickets: $20 Adult; $14 Special Discount for students with student ID, seniors 65+, active-duty military with military ID, teachers with school ID; $10 Youth (ages 6 to 14); ages 5 and under are free.
Directed by Christine Schmidle, Deputy Text Associate at Shakespeare's Globe in London, "All's Well That Ends Well" is a giddy charade of disguise, trickery, and lawful wickedness. Embark with us on the adventures of Helena, a witty young woman who must travel the mysterious path of love and navigate the beguiling people she encounters: the naive but courageous man she loves, three visionary women, and, of course, a fool (or two!). This fall, lovers and braggarts all will get more than they deserve, and if they can work together to end well despite their best efforts to make a huge mess of things, so, perhaps, might we. September 24 at 2pm, TheatriKids presents “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)” Note: This show is suitable for ages 11 and up.
This high-speed roller-coaster condensation of all of Shakespeare's plays is not recommended for people with heart ailments, bladder problems, inner-ear disorders, outer-ear disorders, degrees in Shakespearean studies, degrees in Elizabethan history, and/or a tendency toward motion sickness.
Seating for these shows is by general admission. For the best seats, plan to arrive 30 minutes before the show. The show will start on time, so please don't be late! These performances take place outdoors. Dress for the weather (hot, cold, or rainy ... it's Flagstaff in the fall!) and feel free to bring a blanket if it's cold. Online sales end 2 hours before the show; we begin selling tickets at The Arboretum about 45 minutes before showtime.
